Every patient who wants a LASIK surgery undergoes a detailed refraction and corneal topographical analysis using Orbscan™ (B & L) and an aberrometry test on wavescan™ aberrometry machine. This helps in calculating the higher order defects present in each individual’s eyes apart from the refractive error. These readings are then fed in the Customized LASIK machine “CustomVue™”.
The advantage of undergoing a customized LASIK is that the machine treats all the lower order and higher order aberrations in each patient’s eye i.e. the treatment is customized to each patient. This leads to better quality of vision especially night vision.
Those patients found unsuitable for LASIK are evaluated for various other options like LASEK , Phakic IOLs or ICLs.
